As I sat down to write my first blog post, I found myself pondering over various topics. Should I delve into my life experiences spanning 28 years? Perhaps focus on driver training, my time as a driving school owner, or coaching instructors twice my age? The stories of my trucking days or my role as a provincial examiner each provided stories interesting enough to share. Amidst the chaotic mixture of opinions urging me to cater to the audience's desires, I realized my preference lies in authenticity and pride in my work.
To the readers: Expect insights into the driver safety industry and valuable information to aid your journey to becoming a top-notch safety professional. But before diving into that, this post serves as a heartfelt thank you to my parents – without them, none of this would be possible.
Mom and Dad have made sacrifices their entire lives, starting with the monumental decision to relocate to a new country before I was born. Their courage in navigating unfamiliar cultures and systems for the sake of our family's future is a testament to their resilience. Witnessing their unwavering dedication fuels my drive, as squandering the opportunities they provided would be a disservice.
Throughout my adolescence, Mom's suggestion during a routine drive sparked a pivotal moment. Despite my teenage skepticism, her foresight planted the seed for my future endeavors in driver training. Dad, on the other hand, imparted his calm demeanor as he taught me how to drive. Reflecting on his guidance, I realized the invaluable role parents and coaches play in shaping driving habits of the next generation.
Despite facing skepticism from extended family, my parents stood by me as I pursued unconventional paths – from learning to drive a semi-truck to venturing into the driver training industry. Their unwavering support, even during the closure of my own business to pursue new opportunities, speaks volumes.
Little did I know that my driving adventures would pave the way for my current position. With a supportive mentor by my side, I've embarked on a journey to make our roads safer for all drivers. I am immensely grateful for the opportunities that have led me here, and I aim to continue making strides while honoring those who have supported me along the way.
To all those who have offered me opportunities to learn and grow, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And to Mom and Dad, your unwavering support deserves a special mention. Without you, none of this would be possible. I hope to continue making you proud.
For the readers in the safety industry, stay tuned for more driver safety-related content in the pipeline. The journey ahead promises exciting developments.
